One of my all time favorite songs is ‘Echos on ‘A’ St by the Dropkick Murphys. They nail every verse to tell a story about the love and devotion of a dog. Click above link to listen.
ECHOES ON “A” STREET
(Written by Dropkick Murphys)
Anxious nights give way to daylight
She don’t cry and she don’t complain
To honor, cherish, protect and keep you
She took your problems and took your name
All she wants is to stroll down the island
She don’t care if there’s wind or there’s rain
Only a woman of her stature
Could shield you from the venom of this town’s disdain
And she’ll wait by your side
She’ll never let you out of her sight
And she’ll wait by your side,
You’re the one thing that matters in her life
As she waits patiently by the window
She knows you’ll be coming home soon
She’ll sit quiet there and won’t go
Her dedication can’t be moved
She hears the echoes marching down “A” street
Like footsteps on the cobblestone
A pace too heavy to be her master
They pass her by and she’s still alone
And she’ll wait by your side
She’ll never let you out of her sight
And she’ll wait by your side
You’re the one thing that matters in her life
CHORUS:
Shannon I’m coming home
So, this is my first try at actual ‘STUDIO’ Dog photography. I have millions of pictures of my dogs and fellow dog lovers pups, but nothing staged. Here is my oldest Cora. She’s a yellow lab mix. I wanted to adopt a boy dog and she was the last of the liter. I took her in a special spot where we could meet and she wouldn’t even look at me. She look disgusted that we were even meeting this way. My good friend Amy convinced me to get her, and she has been my co-pilot ever since. She moved with me to a few towns in NH, and traveled with me to Frisco, CO for a winter. She’s laid by my side when I went through cancer and been there when I was at my lowest and highest. Her face in this first picture is the same she made that day I decided to bring her home. She’s so dramatic. But that is a face and eyes of contentment. I know it…she’s 10 now and I see it everyday. Although she would rather be rolling in shit somewhere or sitting lake-side, she agreed to sit for me. Once I pulled the glasses out I was pushing it.
