The ‘Golden Hour’

Autumn sunrises and sunsets are by far the most stunning in New England. In the fall, the air is drier and cleaner, which means there are less molecules floating around. That, in turn, means there are less obstacles that the wavelengths of the colors of red, orange and yellow have to get through to reach our eyes. The light also has to travel further through the atmosphere giving it that soft golden feeling. This also means for a photographer that the morning and dusk light can be magical if you’re out.
