Portland Maine, Peaks Island and Fishermen

These some photos from a recent trip to Portland, Maine. I have many memories in this town. My grandfather used to live on Peaks Island years ago, when ‘Island Life Living’ was walking down to the ferry against a frigid winter blow from the ocean, to get to school or work everyday. It was about taking the old Volkswagen Bug and letting my uncle drive it into Battery Steele…which is an old Military Reservation the Army used in the 1900’s during WWI. The main objective was to drive in, pretend the car stalled, turn off all the lights, and to scare the shit out of me, my sister and cousins. Here are a few of Portland and the local fish markets. These fishermen go out everyday into these waters, just like the farmer driving his tractor on a humid, dusty, sunny day to plow the field. Enjoy and BUY LOCAL

  1. Colleen,
I just love the first one. How did you retouch them? Did you play with the sharpening?
